The next lot of PS Plus games for May 2021 are almost here, with the announcement due to take place next week.
But, Sony’s recent actions may have leaked the next PS5 game to come to the service.
Terminator Resistance was due to be released on PlayStation 5 on April 30th.
It has now been delayed for a short time while Sony “make improvements” on their end.
In a blog post, Reef Entertainment announced the delay and explained the reasoning behind it.
”We have recently been informed that there is some additional work that needs to be done on SONY’s side to ensure that the upgrades from PS4 to PS5 happen smoothly. As of the moment, we have not been given a final date on when SONY will be able to complete this. As a result, there is a strong possibility that the PS4 to PS5 upgrade will not be available for the launch of TERMINATOR: RESISTANCE ENHANCED on April 30th and will follow a short time later.”
While there is a possibility that the game does need work doing to it, it is also interesting to note that Oddworld: Soulstorm will be leaving PS Plus next month, and Sony has begun giving away PS5 games each month to PS Plus members.
Since we are only just over 6 months into the lifecycle of the PS5, there aren’t too many games on the PS5 just yet, so finding games to release must be incredibly difficult.
They have combated this that releasing games on the service on day one, could they be set to do the same with Terminator Resistance?
The PS Plus games for May 2021 are due to be announced on Wednesday, April 28th at 11:30 am EST/4:30 pm BST and will go live on Tuesday, May 4th 2021.
Each month Sony gives away one PS5 game and two or three PS4 games and we don’t expect this to change this month.
So far this year we have seen the likes of Oddworld: Soulstorm, Control, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Destruction All-Stars be added to the service, with Oddworld: Soulstorm and Destruction All-Stars launching on day one on PS Plus.
