HARRISON TOWNSHIP, MI – Police and firefighters responding to a reported boat fire Saturday morning found three people and one dog dead, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office said.
Macomb County Sheriff’s Office deputies and the Harrison Township Fire Department were dispatched to Fox Marine at Lake St. Clair around 6:05 a.m.
Calls to 911 reported smoke coming from the boat’s window, police said.
Fire crews boarded the 38-foot vessel and “extinguished any signs of possible fire,” a news release from the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office said.
Three people and the dog were discovered dead in the boat’s cabin.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing.
